UGIVE.ORG, Duke Energy, and partner non-profit organizations have organized a series of environmentally-oriented service events as part of the UGIVE "Green Machine". Each event will support in excess of 30 high school student volunteers (with some supporting several hundred) and are designed to bring students from across our region together to make a significant impact upon communities throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

UGIVE.ORG, in conjunction with the Cincinnati Park Board, The Cincinnati Nature Center, the Cincinnati Zoo, Civic Garden Center, Give Back High, Keep Cincinnati Beautiful, Granny's Garden and People Working Cooperatively have created large scale events designed to engage and excite students with an emphasis on environmental causes. Every Saturday from October 4 through November 15, students will fuel the Green Machine as they volunteer their time. There are opportunities ranging from bulb planting to nature trail maintenance, from yard clean up for the elderly to helping to string energy efficient lights for the Festival of Lights at the Zoo. Rachelle Caldwell from Duke Energy Foundation says "Duke Energy is excited to be a part of these environmental projects, and to engage student volunteers."

Students can learn more about the events and sign up to volunteer by going to UGIVE.ORG. The events are easily accessible, as each contains the 'Green Machine' moniker in the description on the featured section of the UGIVE.ORG homepage. UGIVE.ORG provides a tracking system for student volunteer hours so that each student can create and maintain their certified "volunteer resume" which will aid in the college application process. UGIVE.ORG also provides a forum for students to discuss their experience and recruit more students to their preferred causes.
